Helloooo!! I’m Musa! This is just a silly little blog so I can get some of my needed opinions out there and shout into the empty sea instead of into my notion, which is how I’m treating this website.
To start, I’m obviously not about to doxx myself, this website is kinda embarrassing and is online only LOL
I’m 21 years old and studying sociology at university, in my final year as I write this. I only got into music within the last few years, which is upsetting because now I have so much to catch up on. For most of my life I was a song-only listener, never albums, so this is almost an experiment to force myself to continue doing that so I don’t fall into my old ways.
My favorite genres are as follows
- Rap but the kind that white girls listen too (Tyler the creator)
- Divorced dad rock
- Shoe gaze (Love you Cocteau twins <3)
- Virgin-core
- E-girl circa 2020
There will obviously be others but for now, this does encapsulate what I would say my music taste is. Which is why I must EXPAND! I don’t have long until my undergrad is over, and the plan is to listen to 50 albums before that. It’s not going well, but I am trying.
As for the ‘record store’ that I work in, the main reason I started this was because I wanted to document how I feel about certain albums after not even being able to choose to listen tot hem. I don’t work in a small indie record store, I work in a commercial chain store where BRAT played 24/7 for 3 months straight because it was ‘hip’ at the time. YES IT WAS HIP, BUT NOT AFTER THE 50TH TIME LISTENING TO IT IN 7 DAYS. So that’s what the store section is for, documenting albums and how they change the more I am forced to listen:)
